Task 1: Understanding 'single camera production'

  1. Define 'single camera production':
Single camera production is one camera taking multiple shots and angles. This means it’s not live and requires editing and a lot of takes.
b) Identify the advantages and disadvantages of single camera production (refer to examples where you can):

Advantages

  • It allows the production to focus on one setup at a time.
  • It benefits the production costs because they do not have to pay for multiple cameras and camera man. 


Disadvantages

  • Time consuming if the production is using many takes. 
  • It takes longer to set up all the production for each take.  
  • The reactions from actors can be less realistic especially if one actor is getting filmed at a time.

Multi camera production is when several cameras are used. Television shows and films use this method to record or broadcast scenes.

    the production is able to film multiple scene and reactions at once.
